STEM Saturdays at The Cooper Union offers design and engineering classes to students in grades 9-11. Students work on developing assets for augmented and virtual reality applications. Apply by 9/25/23.

 

Wrtitopia's College Essay Open House Free online open house for students and parents to learn about best practices and explore how to make college essay process rewarding. 9/28/23 @ 7:30 PM. Please RSVP at the link above. 

 

Bard Sequence Performing Arts & DOE Arts Hub Offers students the opportunity to earn college credits while enhancing their creativity and refining their musical talents in orchestra and jazz ensemble. Apply by 9/29/23. 

 

Ithaca College Brass Day LaGuardia alum and Professor at Ithaca College, Chris Coletti, invites students and educators to a free day of master classes, faculty showcases, workshops on brass related topics, presentations and student performances. 

 

MOMA Teen Film Committee A group of 13 film enthusiasts who organize film screenings for NYC teens. The TFC will plan screenings, moderate post-screening discussions, and cultivate a community of teens connected to MoMA who love film through social media and other platforms. Apply by 10/1/23.

 

Mark Morris Dance Group invites students ages 15-21 to apply for their Arts Immersion Fellowship to develop careers skills in the arts including management, marketing, choreography, producing and more. Apply by 10/2/23.

 

Art College Night at The Whitney Teens are invited to Art College Night at the Whitney Museum. Meet representatives from colleges with studio art, art history, and art education programs. NBC STAR CHOIR The Holiday Singing Competition Enter for a chance to perform during the Christmas in Rockefeller Center Special on NBC. Apply by 10/12/23.

 

YoungArts and The National Endowment for the Advancement of Artists identify the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities throughout their careers. Artists ages 15–18, or grades 10–12, in the U.S. are encouraged to apply in the discipline of their choice. Apply by 10/13/23.

 

Free Concert: The Giulio Gari Foundation is hosting its annual International Vocal Competition Winner's Concert on Sunday 10/15, 2:30 pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, 152 W71st, NY, NY 10023. 

 

NYU Tisch Spring Future Artists Program A pre-college program that is FREE of charge, open to all eligible students, and centered on educational opportunities in studying in the arts with the same rigor and training offered in the undergraduate departments. It is designed for students who may not have access to other programs in their schools and/or communities and who would qualify for financial aid at NYU. Apply by 10/20/23. 

 

Teens Open Studio at The Whitney A free art-making program on select Fridays. 10/13, 11/3, 11/10, 12/1, 12/8. Work with contemporary artists to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by the Whitney’s exhibitions and collection.

 

Teen Halloween Night at The Whitney Teens are invited to Halloween Teen Night at the Whitney, organized by our Youth Insights Leaders. Come in costumes and enjoy live music, dancing, artist-led workshops, a spooky photo booth, snacks, and more! 10/27/23 @ 4-7 pm 

 

Alliance for Young Artists & Writers seeks teen students with exceptional artistic and literary talent. Awards give students the opportunity for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships.  Teens can apply in 28 categories of art and writing. Visit website for applications details. 

 

Interlochen Arts Camp Students hone their artistic skills while making friends from around the world. Interlochen has summer programs in music, theater, visual arts, creative writing, film and news media. LaGuardia students have an application fee waiver using code: LaGuardia24. Summer 2024 applications are open. 

 

NYO Jazz invites young musicians to audition for its summer 2023 season. Outstanding young musicians from across the US showcase the legacy and bright future of American jazz in a free rigorous training residency with world-class jazz masters. Apply by 1/19/24.

 

NYO2 invites young musicians from groups underserved by and underrepresented in the classical orchestra field to audition for its free summer 2023 season. Teen musicians work closely with top players from American orchestras and conservatories during a residency. Apply by 11/30/23.

NYO-USA invites young musicians from across the US to audition for its summer 2023 season. The program includes a training residency with leading professional orchestra musicians followed by a tour performing in great musical capitals of the world. Opportunities for orchestra librarians, orchestra management, and apprentice composers also available. Apply by 12/4/23.

 

2024 Ocean Awareness Contest Share your personal climate story through art, writing, performance, film, or multimedia. Creatively express your personal experiences, insights, or perceptions about our changing climate reality. Apply by 6/10/24. 

 

Believe & Inspire After School Programs offer interactive virtual after-school programs that aim to empower underserved youth to become successful leaders. Participants learn practical life skills to help accomplish their life goals. Ongoing.

 

NYC Youth Leadership Councils are a network of youth focused on policy, practice, and advocacy to make real change happen in their school, neighborhood, or community. Students join peers and adult allies to act on issues that matter the most to you. YLCs are in all five boroughs and need students to make NYC a better place.
