ALL SCHOOL - Rising Stars, June 15, June 16
Director's Note

LaGuardia artists!

LaGuardia's Rising Stars, an all-school variety show, is a unique showcase of talent that brings students from each of the school's studios - Drama, Vocal, Dance, Music, Art, and Technical Theater, for a spectacular LIVE performance.

I am confident that this year's Rising Stars, titled Reprise, will be no different.

I am thrilled to serve as this year's show director and look forward to working with a talented and passionate group of artists across all the LaGuardia studios.

I invite everyone with a unique talent to audition for this year's show. No matter what studio you belong to - a dancer that can sing, a visual artist that writes music, a stand-up comedian, or a rapper - you are all invited to audition to showcase your talent.

Tadej Brdnik

Director, LaGuardia Rising Stars 2023

Rising Stars: Reprise auditions are coming!

Are you the next big star?  Show us!  We are looking for acts for Rising Stars which will perform on the Concert Hall Stage June 15th and 16th  Acts are restricted to 10 minutes.  All submissions will be virtual, an email for submission collection will go out shortly.

Due to the extremely tight tech time for the show – acts will only be considered if they are completely formed and Please note there is no in school rehearsal time.

All submissions will be due 5/5/23 – no exceptions.

Excited to dip your toe into exploring colleges? The NACAC NYC College Fair is happening April 23rd at the Javits Center. Click here to learn more.

11th Grade: You will be taking the SAT next Tuesday, April 25, here at LaGuardia. This is a real SAT but is low stakes in the sense that your score will not be seen by any colleges unless you proactive disclose the score to them when you apply to college next Fall. Remember, there is no penalty for wrong answers on the SAT or ACT, so never leave any questions blank.

10th Grade: You will be taking the PSAT 10 next Tuesday, April 25, here at LaGuardia. This is a practice SAT and is only for your own information to help you understand your level of performance on this particular brand of test.

Free preparation for both the SAT and PSAT10 can be found online at Khan Academy.
