This is more than a variety show… It's a LaGuardia tradition celebrating the incredible talent in our school community. Now it’s your turn to step up, be bold, stand out, and take center stage.

So… look in the mirror and ask yourself:
“Am I ready for this?”

Solo or group. Sing, dance, act, play, create. Whatever your talent, this is your moment to own the stage, shine, and give us something unforgettable.

The Academic Forum is planning a few informational programs for LaGuardia families this year, and we’d like to know what would be most useful to you. Please take a moment to complete a very brief survey HERE (select up to four topics that interest you and then tell us which one matters most to your family).

Your responses will help us set priorities. Because the Academic Forum’s budget is limited, we’ll focus on programs and resources that can benefit the greatest number of LaGuardia students and families. Thank you!

Schedules Are Final — Now Let’s Make the Most of Them!

The schedule-change period has come to an end. If your junior got all the changes they hoped for—wonderful! 🎉

If there were some disappointments, now is the time to help our students shift the focus toward making the most of the schedule they have. There are benefits and opportunities in every course, teacher and experience. Encourage your junior to connect with their teachers, ask for help when needed, explore new interests and find ways to maximize the year ahead.

Junior year is a marathon, not a sprint—and we still have a lot ahead of us!

FLAG  Award for Teaching Excellence

The nominations are open for the FLAG Award for Teaching Excellence. We have great teachers at LaG, so let's nominate them!

The FLAG Award gives away $400,000 to NYC public schools and teachers every year with the winning teachers receiving $25,000 personally along with a $10,000 grant for their school.

For more information about the award, please check out in the New York Times, or CBS news.

Parents and students, as well as school staff, can nominate their favorite teachers at flagaward.org/nominate. The process is really simple, just providing some information and answering the question “why are you nominating this teacher?”

DONORS CHOOSE: SUPPORT OUR TEACHERS

Let's keep it going for Ms. Vivar who is teaching a new course for seniors, called Science Fiction and Fantasy. Let's support this fun murder mystery project!
