The Music Studio would like to thank everyone who attended last week's Winter Band Concert featuring Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony and an extra special thanks to the parent volunteers who supported the Studio during this show. Both ensembles gave thrilling performances to cap off the semester, each with a piece featuring a professional soloist. If you missed it, you can catch a video on YouTube HERE courtesy of the LaGuardia High School Archive Club who have been recording and posting all of this winter's Music Studio concerts. Thank you Archive Club!

“When you're in a theater, it's about reaching the back rows. When you have a camera in your face, it's just about knowing the size of the room."

– Corey Stoll

OUR KIDS ARE RISING STARS. OUR MERCH IS FIRE. ALL WE NEED NOW IS YOU!

Got 30 minutes and opposable thumbs? Help us sling shirts, bundles, and bragging rights at the Rising Stars merch table, February 5–8. It’s fun. It’s easy. It supports the Studio. And yes, you can wear the merch while selling the merch (power move). Sign up HERE(You know you want to.) Preorder Drama Merch bundles are dropping soon too - look out for another email with the full breakdown (spoiler: they’re good. Like, “save one for me” good!).

THE SPRING FLINGS THAT TALENT BRINGS
Spring Drama Festival is coming in hot. Discover the many ways to pitch in by keeping an eye on your email and WhatsApp. In the meantime, you can save the dates:

  • Urinetown – Mar 26–28
  • Noises Off – Apr 30–May 2
  • Macbeth – May 29–31

TALENT IS FREE. SETS, LIGHTS AND RIGHTS ARE EXPENSIVE.

Let’s be real, great theater doesn’t just run on talent and jazz hands. It runs on donations. Every costume, every spotlight, every mic that actually works happens because people like you step up and give a little (or a lot) to keep the Studio thriving. Whether you're the proud parent of a future Tony winner, a devoted alum, or just someone who really loves a well-timed stage slap, your gift helps make the magic happen. Donate HERE now and be the hero behind the curtain. No amount is too small. Except zero. Zero is definitely too small.

2026 Leadership Institute

Service in Schools invites students in grades 10–12 to apply to participate in the 2026 Leadership Institute. Throughout the program, students work in small groups to learn about local issues, culminating in the planning and implementation of a day-long Youth Service Summit for elementary school students on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Program FAQ can be found HERE and program application HERE. Deadline to apply is Friday, February 13. Email ServiceinSchools@schools.nyc.gov with  any questions.
