"WARM FOR WINTER" CLOTHING DRIVE
11/15 - 12/15 Drop off in main lobby

LaG's Counseling Support Team requests donations of new* winter clothing items that will be distributed to various local charities and organizations dedicated to helping those in need. Hats, gloves, socks, scarves, thermals, blankets, hoodies, sweaters, and other winter items graciously accepted.

SPORTS REPORT: GO LAG LIONS!

Fiorello LaGuardia High School is set for an exciting week of sports! 

The Armory Track will host indoor track meets on November 20th (boys) and November 26th (boys and girls). Varsity boys' basketball will captivate audiences on November 29th (Fiorello LaGuardia gym) and November 30th (Hunter College High School gym), while the varsity girls' team takes the court at Beacon High School gym on November 30th. 

With a lineup of thrilling competitions, LaGuardia's athletes are ready to showcase their talents in the upcoming week.

NEW INFO ON TEST PREP!

Academic Approach* is offering a virtual ACT or SAT prep course to LaGuardia students in preparation for 2024 tests. The course is aimed at helping students improve their score growth potential by reviewing key skill sets in reading, writing, math and science, and the application of these skills on college entrance exams. This course, which starts in January, includes 24 hours of instruction, 2 full-length practice tests, and additional study materials. The cost of the course is greatly reduced for LaG students at $400. The deadline to sign up is December 10, 2023. A minimum of 18 students must sign up for the course in order to secure the discount. The make-up date for the Senior Class of 2024 and Studio Pictures for the yearbook is Monday, November 27, 2024 (Rain Date: November 28).

We are thrilled to be invited by Lincoln Center to take our picture on their campus as they are such an integral part of the LaGuardia experience.  We expect that only periods 1 & 2 will be impacted.

Busy Monday Night!

Both the Dance Studio and the Music Studio are hosting meetings this Monday 11/20 with content that is of interest to families in all studios. In order to accommodate families who want to attend both meetings please note that the Dance Studio's mental health presentation starts at 7:00 p.m. and while the Music Studio meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., the summer programs presentation will begin at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully this allows families to benefit from the important content of both meetings.

Mental Health Presentation Monday 11/20

Casting Call - Urgent!

Annoys Swamy, MFA Producer @ NYU Tisch, is looking to cast male teen roles for a short film, Blue Cardinal. Production dates are 12/1 - 12/14. To audition for these roles please prepare and email the following materials: headshot or picture from the shoulders up and a resume (if available) of previous work to bh2532@nyu.edu and as16488@nyu.edu. Teens Open Studio at The Whitney A free art-making program on select Fridays: 12/1, 12/8. Work with contemporary artists to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by The Whitney’s exhibitions and collection.
