The Parent Association Academic Forum web page could use a glow-up! Throughout the year, we’ve gathered a lot of great content, and we’d love help redesigning the site so it’s easier to navigate and better organized for families looking for resources. If you’re a PA member—or a student with web design, UX, or content organization skills—and would enjoy helping give the site a refresh, we’d be thrilled to have your help. Student volunteers can count this as community service (and it’s a nice real-world project to show off). If you’re interested in helping make the site a little smarter, cleaner, and easier to use, please email academicforum@laguardiahspa.org

As we look ahead to next year, we welcome PA members who may be interested in getting involved with the Academic Forum. If you’re curious about what we do, thinking about participating in the future, or simply have questions before elections, please feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to talk with parents who are interested in supporting academic programming and sharing ideas for this community's benefit.

IF YOU’RE IN TOWN MARCH 26-28, SEE URINETOWN! OR VOLUNTEER!

Our first Spring Drama Festival show is almost here. Urinetown hits the stage March 26–28, and we can’t wait to see our seniors (and the entire company behind them) do their thing.

Tickets are on sale now right HERE!

Look out for a volunteer sign-up this week for merch, concessions, and hall monitors too. If you’ve ever wanted to wear a lanyard and feel important, this is your moment. Minus the lanyard. We don’t really do those.

PLAYBILL AD DEADLINE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE MORE FAMIILES – HINT, HINT, HINT

Good news for procrastinators (a proud theater tradition): Playbill ad sales are now extended through Tuesday, March 10. Buy a shout-out for your senior, promote your business, or thank a favorite teacher. Funds help support this year’s SDFs and next year’s too.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Click HERE.
  2. Fill out the Google Form.
  3. Pay via PayPal.
  4. Our SDF team will follow up for the details.

Support levels run from $25 to $2,500:

  • Contributor — $25 | Name in playbill
  • Patron — $50 | Name in playbill
  • Bravo Sponsor — $100 | Name in playbill
  • Standing Ovation — $250 | 1/8 page ad
  • Encore — $500 | 1/4 page ad
  • Spotlight — $1,000 | 1/2 page ad
  • Marquee — $2,500+ | Full page ad

If your sponsorship includes an ad, we’re happy to design it for you.

Or you can whip one up on Canva. Your call.

Prefer to simply donate? You can do that too. We won’t judge.

Questions? Seek and you shall find by emailing: sdf@laguardiahspa.org

FIELD TRIP: DEATH OF A SALESMAN

Wednesday, March 11 — 7:00pm. Sophomores and juniors who are attending: please pick up your tickets in advance from Ms. Fries (G53) during periods 5, 6, 8, or 10 this week. Dear Dance Families,

The rehearsals for the Graduation Dance Concert are in full swing and wow, this show is going to be amazing! The students and choreographers are hard at work creating something magical. Can you help?

The Graduation Dance Concert is the culminating event for our seniors and they are so excited to perform for all of you at the end of May. Please consider sponsoring a dance! This is the dance department's most important fundraiser and many of the pieces are still missing sponsors - let's not let that happen! You can learn more about how to support HERE. Please participate if you are able, and share out this information with friends, families and businesses who might be interested in supporting our young artists and their choreographers.

Warmly,

Katie & Barbette

MEETING THIS WEEK!

Please join us on Monday, March 9 at 7:00pm for our Art PA Monthly Meeting. Zoom link HERE

Meeting ID: 895 2927 0467
Passcode: 432117

Mr. Stehle will join us to discuss choosing art classes for next year and to answer any questions. Also attending will be a LaG parent who is Director of Admissions at Parsons. She has offered to speak about their summer program. We’ll also hear updates about the Visiting Artist Program!

Hope to see you there!

MARCH 24 – ART MERCH SALE AT ACCEPTED STUDENT OPEN HOUSE

LaGuardia’s Accepted Student Open House is scheduled for March 24, and the Art Studio needs volunteers to help with the Art merch sale at the event. This one is always a lot of fun! Please sign up HERE!

THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING SENIOR ART SHOW #1!

Thank you to all of the families who came out to see the exhibit and support more than 40 of our talented senior students! Their work was truly incredible! And a special thank you to the amazing volunteers who helped sell merch at the event, including: Reina Nakagawa, Siofra Campbell, and Mirna Arysandy Hofman. We appreciate our volunteers so much, and are grateful their support helped us step away from the table so we could enjoy the work of our own senior students! Additional thanks to the amazingly helpful student volunteers who helped make Senior Art Show #1 a great success for the studio!

THINKING AHEAD

Your friendly Art Reps love this job, but it can’t stay ours forever! Time is flying, and we’re only a few months out from our students graduating from LaG(!). All that to say, if you’re thinking about running for Art Co-Rep next year, this is a GREAT time to let us know! We’ve created an interest form HERE, and look forward to answering any questions about the role.

THE ART STUDIO STILL NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

Several of our art teachers are still in need of materials and supplies for their classes, so if you have not already contributed this school year, now is a perfect time! To contribute, donations of any size are greatly appreciated! Thank you for your support! We couldn't do this without you! Please click HERE to donate.

Please feel free to email us anytime at: art@laguardiahspa.org. We'd love to hear from you!

Have a great week ahead!
