| On February 5-8, 2026, LaGuardia High School Parents Association is excited to present Rising Stars: GET ON YOUR FEET - an amazing variety show with Broadway-worthy performances featuring our amazing students from ALL studios. Rising Stars, performed this year in the Little Flower Theater, is a major fundraiser for the LaGuardia Parents Association. Every penny raised from this event directly supports our students. | SIGN UP NOW FOR SAT OR ACT PREP CLASSES! $389 per session DEADLINE: DECEMBER 7
The test-prep company Academic Approach will run a 10-week virtual SAT Test Prep Class AND a 12-week virtual ACT Test Prep Class this Winter for LaGuardia students on Sundays from 9:30-11:30am, from January 4 to March 15 (SAT) and January 4 to March 29 (ACT). The courses cost $389, which is a discounted price for LaGuardia students. Please check information on the course and register HERE. THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 7! A minimum of 15 students must register for a class to take place. If your child has a non-LaGuardia student friend who would like to enroll, let us know.
Students take a practice test before classes begin. A proctored test is scheduled for December 14 from 10:00am - 1:30pm, but students may take a self-proctored test any time up until January 1 on their own.
Some financial aid is available from the PA. If you need financial assistance for taking this course or have any other questions, please contact academicforum@laguardiahspa.org.
This class is designed for Juniors or for Sophomores, especially those currently enrolled in Algebra II, interested in prepping early.
Twenty plus hours of total instruction are customized to introduce reading annotation, math problem solving skills, and grammar skills. Students meet with an instructor for each class session, access digital course materials, and take two full-length practice tests. Recordings of each Zoom session and optional homework assignments are included. |

POTS NOV MTG MINS Thank you to everyone who attended last week's monthly POTS meeting with extra special thanks to Abigail Epprecht, Scott Stokke, and Justin Mackey for taking time out of their very busy schedules to be there! | Casting opportunity Looking for a young male actor, playing the age of 17. The film will follow 10-year-old Maura in the wake of her mother's death, as she witnesses her mother's best friend, Elizabeth, develop an increasingly intimate relationship with her older brother, Will. Alex Falk is LaGuardia's Substance Abuse Prevention & Intervention Specialist: AFalk@schools.nyc.gov The NYC DOE Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialists (SAPIS) program provides a range of prevention and intervention services in grades K-12. The goals of the program are to: - Reduce the prevalence of substance abuse among youth
- Delay the initiation of substance abuse behavior among youth
- Decrease the negative health, social, and educational consequences associated with substance abuse
- Prevent the escalation of substance abuse behaviors to levels requiring treatment
