Students are working toward completing all assignments ahead of the end of this term's 1st marking period on October 17th. Teachers will submit grades and then parents will be able to view them in their NYCSA about a week after the marking period ends.
In the fall, the 1st Marking Period grades are Progress Reports and will be reported as: P = Passing (71-100), D = In Danger of Failing (65-70), or F = Failing (0-64). Grades of P, D and F are broad indicators. All subsequent marking periods will be marked with a numeric grade on the 100 scale: Passing grades are 65 - 100, Failing grade is reported as 55.
The course credit 'CR' grade, established in the COVID years, will not be an option going forward. Only courses taken by August 2025 are eligible to be converted from a numeric grade to a 'CR'. Parents/guardians may submit a CR Request Form found HERE.
Along with SNN and Instagram, we've also added a PA webpage HERE that describes the Academic Forum. If you have questions or are interested in helping the Academic Forum fulfill its mission to represent the academic interests of all PA members and students and support the school's academic faculty, please email academicforum@laguardiahspa.org. |

Dancing with James Whiteside; WHAT?! Did you hear about who our students got to dance with last week? We were pleased to bring in our first guest artist of the year, James Whiteside. James Whiteside's class provided dance students with invaluable exposure to a principal dancer from American Ballet Theatre, offering insights into professional technique, artistry, and the realities of performing at the highest level of classical ballet. His unique perspective as both an accomplished performer and creative artist helped inspire students while demonstrating the discipline and innovation required to succeed in contemporary dance.
If you think that sounds super cool - and you should! - please consider donating to support our dance studio HERE. We need your support to maintain all of our amazing programming like our guest artist series.
