SUBJECT: SNN 6/8, Almost There!

Issue 37, June 8, 2025
Cap & Gown - Graduation Info (from Yellow Sheet)

Cap & Gown distribution will happen once we confirm that Seniors will graduate.

There a a few ways that will delay a Senior from being cleared for graduation. These include needing to return NYCPS/LaG devices, needing to complete end-of-year Guidance tasks (such as any Maia or Guidance survey), waiting for transcript updates, etc.

Students need their LaGuardia Student ID to enter Prom, pick up Graduation Tickets and Cap & Gown, and yearbook.

The best and quickest source of End-of-Year information is to read your emails and the Yellow Sheet.

Graduation Ceremony

LaGuardia's ceremony is on Monday, June 23, at 2:00 PM (graduates will need to arrive at noon, and guests will need to arrive at 1:00 PM to pass through the building's security check.)

The ceremony is expected to last two hours. As the venue is large, it will take at least 30 minutes to exit the theater.

We're fortunate that each graduate will receive 4 tickets this year. Every person needs a ticket, and the seats are reserved. Normally we've only been able to offer 2. Seniors should check their email for when the opportunity to receive 1 or 2 tickets through a randomized process is announced. Any additional tickets will not be seated with the students four tickets.

Seniors also receive a ticket for themselves. They need this to enter the venue.

PA & SLT Meetings

Next and last general PA meeting is next Tuesday, June 17th at 5:30pm. Zoom link will be sent next week.

Next and last SLT meeting is also next Tuesday, June 17th at 4:00pm in the Principal's conference room second floor.

TAKE A BOW

A big congrats to Ms. Tsantilis and the cast and crew of The Seagull! We are very grateful to all the PODS volunteers for all 3 SDFS! It takes a village to put on these shows and our PODS village is the best!

NOT ALL STARS GRACE THE STAGE

Thank you to the parents who wrapped up this week of SDFs in the home stretch!

You’re all stars.

And last but never least, a special shout out goes to our fearless, dedicated and organized Merch Coordinator extraordinaire - L. Scott!

Apologies if we missed anyone. We blame Summer-on-the-brain for any errant omissions!

Dear Dance Families,

The year is almost coming to a close but before we welcome in summer we hope you will join us for two final dance-related events:

Junior Project performances are at 4:00 and 6:30pm on Thursday, June 12. No tickets required. $5 suggested donations. We will be selling after the 1st performance and before the 2nd so please stop by the gear table! Better yet, if you can help sell in between the shows or put gear away at 6:30pm that would be tremendously helpful. Signup HERE.

And… let’s celebrate the close of another wonderful year as part of the LaG dance community! We will be meeting after the dance performance on Thursday, June 12, at 8:15pm at the Empire Hotel rooftop bar. We are keeping it casual - no resy, no cover cost - just stop by and say hello and admire the view. Please RSVP HERE so we have a sense of numbers.

Finally, as we start to wrap up this year and look to next, a gentle reminder that we cannot offer these wonderful experiences without your help. The students put in the heart, but it takes a village to make everything come together. Please reach out to us at dance@laguardiahspa.org if you are able to support the dance department next year as part of the senior committee, or otherwise.

Warmly,

Katie and Joslin
