Senior Trip The senior trip is still in the planning stages, but here is what we know so far: Location: Six Flags Date: Tentatively the first week in June. Date has to be approved by the administration. Cost: The PA is trying to subsidize the trip with money raised by senior class parents. We are trying to keep the cost to $50-$60 per student but this is not confirmed yet. This would include the cost of the amusement park ticket, bus, food & drink. Confirmation and more details about this trip probably will not happen until April.
Other Senior Activities The SGO (Student Government) is trying to plan some smaller senior activities too, but nothing has been finalized yet. If your student has a suggestion, please have them reach out to SGO leadership.
Teacher Thank Yous! Please have your student take some time to write a nice Thank you note to teachers who wrote them college recommendation letters or helped them prepare for auditions. These teachers were not paid to do this, but did it because they believe in your student. It would mean a lot! |

| During March, the LaG Visiting Artist program welcomed photographer and book publisher David La Spina. David presented a wonderful slideshow of his work to students, shared original prints, cameras and lenses, and a selection of art books he has published under Roman Nvmerals. He talked about getting into photography as a child and documenting his family, his zig-zaggy journey through his education and being mindful of student debt, apprenticeships and mentorships, different photo processes, the different photo projects he's worked on, photographing Shoei Ohtanis for the New York Times, the difference between his personal and commercial photographs, and the importance of having fulfilling side projects alongside professional work. |

| LaG VAP also welcomed award-winning architect and designer Little Wing Lee. Little Wing has over 15 years of professional experience in cultural, commercial, and residential projects. She started her own interior design studio in 2019 called Studio & Projects. She also founded Black Folks in Design, which is an organization whose mission is to bring awareness to and promote the cultural contributions, excellence, and importance of Black designers. Little Wing shared an impressive slideshow that featured items and areas that inspire her and her work, the different projects she's worked on including the National Museum of African American History in Washington, DC, and her curatorial work and organizing group exhibitions at gallery spaces. She also talked about her own artistic practice as a textile-based artist, and designing beautiful rugs inspired by West African and African American textile traditions.
This April 2025, LaG VAP looks forward to hosting artist talks by designer/illustrator/artist Sam Weber, painter Hilary Pecis, and ceramics artist Jennie Jieun Lee. |

DONORS CHOOSE: SUPPORT OUR TEACHERS |
Thank you all for supporting our teachers who give our kids the most amazing educational experience. Mr. Abikzer reached his goal and now students will have new photography equipment to document and photograph important events throughout the school year. Yearbook class, yeah!
Let's now help Mr. Ocampo, coach of our girls' varsity softball team, get some equipment to get this team ready for a winning season. The team needs softballs, hitting tees and a screen for batting practice. Already dedicated student-athletes on and off the field, let's show them our support.
