Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held remotely on the following dates:

November 17 / 4:30pm to 8:30pm

November 18 / 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Information about registration for conferences will be shared the week prior to the conferences.

Parent Teacher Conferences are a brief check-in with teachers. Please remember that families should not wait for Parent Teacher Conferences, nor should they rely on Parent Teacher Conferences, as the only time to connect with teachers. Please reach out to a teacher anytime you have a question, concern, or need clarity on your child’s progress.

Rising Stars
Students: Let all your voices be heard!

Thank you to all students who have responded to the Rising Stars survey! If you haven't, there's still time. NOTE: The survey asks what you'd LIKE to see happen; you can show your interest regardless of obstacles.

Survey results and your personal reflections will be shared anonymously.

Please send your feedback to: risingstars@laguardiahspa.org..

ALL: When/how did you learn about Rising Stars? Does it inspire you? Why do you think it's important for this student-created, student-led production to be continued at LaGuardia?

Seniors: If you participated in Rising Stars in the Concert Hall during your Freshman year (onstage, offstage, or as an audience member), please share the impact it had on you. Most current LaG students are looking to you for leadership because they have not yet experienced this show.

Seniors and Juniors: If you participated in Rising Stars 2021 in any way, please share what it meant to you during remote learning, as a performance or production opportunity, and as a way to stay connected to and collaborate with your LaGuardia peers during that challenging time.

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores: Please tell us how you felt about Rising Stars not being offered last year.

Freshmen: Why do you look forward to participating in Rising Stars?

Fundraising
How to Support Our Community

Donate your time - Whether you’re available once a week, once a month, or once a year, please fill out our volunteer questionnaire so that we can reach out to you when an activity suits you. This will allow you to meet and team up with other LaG families who share your interests in our school. Go to our Volunteer Interests, Skills and Resources form here.

Annual Appeal - Your generosity helps LAGHSPA minimize the impact of long-standing NYC DOE budget gaps in our children’s education. LaG teachers and administrators work diligently to make the most of their budget, and the LaG PA provides necessary additional resources. To give online today click here.

Donor's Choose - Fund classroom projects and needs as requested by our teachers.  View our teacher's projects here

Specific Initiatives -  Funding for one-time initiatives or grade specific requests such as Graduation.

Thank you for fully funding Ms. Harisiadis' most recent project request for books to add to the LGBTQ+ library for the Gender & Identity Literature Elective!

Many more of our teachers need our support to get their projects funded to ensure they are able to carry out their planned curriculum!

Please help Mr. Antao introduce Table Tennis as a new engaging unit in Physical Education. (more than 3/4 of the way funded!)

Please help Ms. Barile get Biology Review books to help students develop effective test-taking strategies and prepare for the Regents exam.

Please view all LaG current projects on our DonorsChoose page and share with friends and family.  Anyone can contribute and all donations are tax deductible.

Your contribution and/or sharing of these links are greatly appreciated!!

TECH
  • The next TECH shopping day will be in December. Here’s the link to Tech merchandise  - If someone is interested in anything, has questions, or wants to check on inventory they can email techmerch@laguardiahspa.org;
  • The next POTS meeting is 11/16 at 6pm on zoom (right before the general PA at 7pm);
  • Each year the donations of parent(s)/caregiver(s) cover many expenses the Department of Education (DOE) does not.  For example, the DOE does not provide food for students during work calls and shows - we do!  Please take a minute to contribute to the Tech PA fund so we can cover this year's costs.  Any amount is welcome and appreciated!   Here is the link (and remember to select Tech!)

Questions/comments/feedback?
