Rising Stars Update

Thank you all for your patience as the Rising Stars Committee has been engaging the school/DOE and student leadership regarding plans for RS2023! We understand how important this student-led show is to current LaG students and families, as well as alumni, former families and the wider LaG community.

Please attend the General PA meeting on Wednesday, 10/26, at 7 pm to learn more. During this meeting, WE NEED YOUR VOTE about how to proceed IN THE EVENT THAT this year's Rising Stars production remains a viable fundraising opportunity.

To understand the challenges involved, please see these notes from the 10/07/22 RS Committee meeting with Principal Yeou-Jey Vasconcelos and Interim Acting Assistant Principal of Career and Technical Education Eli Schreiner.

For questions or feedback, please email risingstars@laguardiahspa.org.

How to Support Our Community

Donate your time - Whether you’re available once a week, once a month, or once a year, please fill out our volunteer questionnaire so that we can reach out to you when an activity suits you. This will allow you to meet and team up with other LaG families who share your interests in our school. Go to our Volunteer Interests, Skills and Resources form here.

Annual Appeal - Your generosity helps LAGHSPA minimize the impact of long-standing NYC DOE budget gaps in our children’s education. LaG teachers and administrators work diligently to make the most of their budget, and the LaG PA provides necessary additional resources. To give online today click here.

Donor's Choose - Fund classroom projects and needs as requested by our teachers.  View our teacher's projects here

Specific Initiatives -  Funding for one-time initiatives or grade specific requests such as Graduation.

Thank you!

Thank you for fully funding Ms. Carabello's most recent project for 100 physical copies of Scythe for 10th Grade Sci-Fi Literature!

More Projects to Fund

This is the absolute last day to help fund Mr. Hold's project request for Psychology foundational texts to help build a Cognitive Psychology library!  This project will expire at midnight if not fully funded!

Please donate, and/or share this link with your networks.

Many more of our teachers urgently need our support to get their projects funded as quickly as possible to ensure that they are able to successfully carry out their planned curriculum for the current marking period.

We have nine more projects that need help with funding. Please view all projects on our DonorsChoose page and share with friends and family.  Anyone can contribute!

Your contributions and/or sharing of these links are greatly appreciated!
