LIVE, L❤️VE, LaG!
Welcome Message

from Jamie McShane

Parents Association President

"I hope everyone is enjoying this last summer holiday weekend and is excited to get back to school! It is my honor and privilege to serve as your PA president. I am looking forward to working together to strengthen our community.

A special warm welcome to incoming freshman and sophomore families. The rest of us remember the big move up from middle school and we want to help everyone to be prepared for the upcoming school year. Whether you are new to high school, or are transferring from another high school, we hope that LaGuardia is everything you hoped for! New student orientation activities will be incorporated into the first few days of school this week."

If you are NEW to LaGuardia, click here for details about Welcome Sessions for incoming LaG families.

First Day of School!

There will be a red carpet and streamers in front of the school's entrance to welcome all students, faculty and staff on Thursday, September 8!

Get ready for your close-up!

Reminders from Principal Vasconcelos

Most faculty and staff have been on vacation since the end of June and don't return until next week. They will be going through three months of emails while getting ready to welcome students back to school. An email that is received this first week of school may need a few extra days before a response is possible.

The DOE Grades, Messaging, and Attendance system is scheduled to be operational no earlier than September 8. At that point we will continue to send emails through the PupilPath mailing list for a few days until all families have had a chance to navigate over.

All schoolwide announcements are posted here on the school's website.

NYC Schools Account (NYCSA)

For Students: Every New York City public school student has a NYC Department of Education (DOE) account. It is created automatically when students enroll in school. Student DOE accounts stay the same the entire time students are in school. Students can access all DOE technology platforms through their DOE account.

For Parents/Guardians: The NYC Schools Account allows you to view your child’s grades, report cards, attendance history, test scores, transportation information, IEP information, submit COVID consent forms, track your child’s progress to graduation, and more!

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Ms. Price at APrice7@schools.nyc.gov after September 6.

Welcome! We're excited to share the 2022-2023 school year with you at LaGuardia High School!

IMPORTANT:
At this time, the school is not able to share your contact information with us. To participate fully with the PA and get the most out of your time at LaGuardia, we need you to complete the PA SIGNUP (log in HERE first) on Membership Toolkit (MTK). You can also provide a student's email address or alias if you would like them to receive the Sunday Night News and other PA eblasts directly from the PA (instead of forwarding many messages to them).

After completing your signup, you will begin receiving all PA communications, and you will have access to content on the PA website that is restricted to current LaG families, such as Studio bulletin boards and our Online Directory.

In coming days, incoming families will receive detailed instructions about signing up, and returning families will receive detailed instructions about reviewing the info they previously provided (including recent changes that have been made) and confirming that their signups are complete.
