Ways to Give

Support Our School by giving to the
LaGuardia High School Parents Association.

Your gifts are needed, fully deductible and very much appreciated!

Thank you! Your contribution will help us to fund artistic, educational and social initiatives that serve the bright and talented NYC teens who attend LaGuardia for its dual mission of arts and academics.

The LaGuardia High School Parents Association, Inc. (LAGHSPA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Every dollar donated goes directly to fund school and student needs. The funds are allocated by the LAGHSPA Executive Board in cooperation with the school administration, studio and academic assistant principals, teachers and staff, and with the approval of the LaGuardia High School parent/guardian body and the LAGHSPA Executive Board. LAGHSPA funds are managed by our treasurer and assistant treasurer, overseen by the LAGHSPA Executive Board representing the entire parent/guardian body. Additional volunteer treasurers serve LAGHSPA Studio Teams responsible for the management and allocation of their respective Studio’s funds. LAGHSPA reports regularly to the parent/guardian body, the principal, and the DOE. Our financial accounts are audited annually by an outside firm.

Studio Appeal

In addition to the LaGuardia PA Appeal, every LaGuardia family is also asked to contribute to their child’s individual studio by making a Studio Donation (to Art, Dance, Drama, Music, or Technical Theatre). The Studio Appeal is for donations that go directly to support your child’s studio needs.

• Whether it’s ballet slippers, a trombone, paint brushes, or nuts and bolts for a new set, our school is unique and requires equipment and supplies other schools just don’t. The Studio Appeal helps provide our students with what is necessary for them to excel in each studio discipline.

• Studio donations are completely voluntary—they are not dues. And we appreciate every penny we get.

Support LaG Fundraising Events

Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a day we prepare for months ahead—and we get a little help to wring the most from each donation. Every dollar given during the day impacts our school twice as much with matching gifts.

This year YOU made all the difference! LaGuardia Families exceeded our goal for Giving Tuesday, making a wonderful start to our fundraising season.

We were overjoyed by your generosity, which helped us raise a total of $13,300 on FaceBook in one night for our general PA funds and contributions continue with our Annual Appeal and Studio Appeals.

A BIG thank you to everyone who donated to specific DonorsChoose projects on Giving Tuesday. Between the LaGuardia community and DonorsChoose matching grants, we fully funded five projects for Ms. Fischer, Ms. Lin, Mrs. McGoey, Mr. Pagan, and Mr. Rahman!

Silent Auction

Our Auction is designed to help raise funds to support ALL studios and programs at LaGuardia Arts High School. This year’s auction was a huge success. We are thrilled to have raised $58,734. See “What’s New at LaGuardia” for more details about this special event.

Every year, LaGuardia presents a Gala benefit to raise money for the school—and to give students the opportunity to perform alongside industry professionals. For 2020, the event moved from our standard Broadway theme, to an online tribute commemorating the 40th anniversary of the movie Fame, which is all about our amazing high school. Students present and past shared their incredible talents by singing or playing songs from the movie, dancing to its numbers, or creating art and animation celebrating our wonderful programs. All this, in the company of creator (and Father Fame scholarship sponsor) David De Silva and very special guest artists associated with the film. The Parents Association and LaGuardia Alumni & Friends co-sponsored this year's event. See “What’s New at LaGuardia” for more details about this event and its airing on WNET Group’s ALL ARTS TV CHANNEL. On-Demand 24/7 streaming begins June 4th.
