Final Version of Bylaws

Dear LaGuardia Families:

At our last General PA meeting on May 31, 2022, our parent body voted to approve the new LaGuardia High School Parents Association Bylaws with the understanding that some final edits would be made and shared with all members.

You'll find the final edited version here.

In addition to cleaning up typos and grammatical errors and phrasing, please refer to the following pages:

  • Page 5: The order of succession if a Co-President resigns. The LAGHSPA Bylaws now specify two different succession provisions, depending on whether a President or Co-President resigns.
  • Page 14: The general responsibility of the Audit Officer has been expanded to include the monitoring of General PA and Studio expenses.
  • Page 18: A provision for PA members to attend Executive Board meetings and participate if recognized by whomever is running the meeting; this provision is consistent with the Chancellor's regulations.

If you can't take on the VP - Comms position, but have communications experience, data / document / content / website management skills (spreadsheets, DMS, graphics, CMS, etc.), OR the willingness to learn about PA Comms and how we use Membership Toolkit software to function, please reach out and let us know which of the following Gen PA communications initiatives you could lead:

HOMEWORK HELP
LaG Virtual Study Groups

As the school year comes to an end, the National Honor Society would like to thank everyone who helped to teach and learn from each other as part of LagPods collaborative virtual peer study groups. We would like to express particular appreciation to those who volunteered to be LagPods Leaders!

This year, we were able to expand our free program to include over 150 students in 21 academic subjects as well as SAT and ACT test prep. Many students participated in Pods in more than one subject area. We look forward to bringing this program back to you in the fall.

Please contact lagpodstutoring@gmail.com with any questions or feedback.
