FINAL BOW

The Spring Drama Festival delighted us for weeks, and just concluded with A Midsummer Night's Dream (pictured). Congratulations to the casts and crews of all three productions, including Love/Sick and The Late Wedding!!!

Bites and Lights

A huge Thank You to all of the parents who came out to attend the Queens Parent/Guardian Get-Together on Thursday May 26, at the Anable Basin Sailing Bar & Grill Restaurant located in Queens. It was a huge success, and we couldn't have done it without you!

All boroughs were welcomed, and many were represented. It was a beautiful evening on the waterfront—with dinner, great conversation, and a fun game of trivia about famous LaGuardia alumni, plus giveaways.

Mission accomplished in bringing parents and guardians together, connecting families, and having fun!

Looking forward to next year!

PA Executive Board Spring Elections 2022-2023

Want to be part of a vibrant, creative and committed group of LaGuardia parents? Become a leader in our Parents Association Executive Board!

On Tuesday June 14, at 6 PM on Zoom, we will elect members to the PA's Executive Board. We encourage everyone to consider running for a position, so please do by emailing us at
lagpaelections@gmail.com.

We're kicking off our election season by first announcing the PA's three mandatory positions: Co-Presidents; Treasurer; Recording Secretary.

As we update our PA bylaws, and ratify them at our General PA meeting on Tuesday, May 31, the other PA Executive Board positions will be revealed, so stay tuned!

Please note that our school must have at least one mandatory position filled by June 30, 2022 in order to have a functioning PA for the 2022-2023 academic year.

UPDATED DETAILS WILL FOLLOW

Manhattan Meetup

We had a great turnout with parents from all Studios and all grades!

Special thanks to Donna Lennard, owner of il Buco Alimentari & Vineria for her gracious hospitality and generosity! The beautiful rooftop Manhattan Meetup was a wonderful time of community, conversation and delicious food & drink.

Reduced Cost Test Prep

The LaGuardia High School Parents Association and its executive board members are not in any way affiliated with Academic Approach, nor are we responsible for the fulfillment of this offer.

For Sophomore and Junior students interested in taking a test prep class for the SAT or ACT this summer, Academic Approach (a nationally recognized test prep company that serves many of the top public and private schools in the country) offers its services to LaGuardia students for 1/3 of the regular cost.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Seeking PA Volunteers!

We're looking for volunteers to join our Nominating Committee in preparation for the 2022-23 PA (Executive Board) and the 2022-24 SLT (School Leadership Team) elections taking place in June. The only requirements to be part of the committee are: a) you must be a parent or guardian of a student at LaGuardia and b) you must not be a current EB member planning to run for the 2022-23 PA Executive Board (this stipulation does not apply to the 2022-24 SLT elections). Please email: laguardiahspa@gmail.com.

The Communications/Website Committee is seeking additional volunteers with data / document / content / website management skills (spreadsheets, DMS, graphics, CMS, etc). We look forward to hearing from you if you can help with a current project and/or if you'd like to learn how you can help to support the Comms/Web Team next year: lagvolunteers@gmail.com.
