REMINDER for students to do the following prior to graduation. For complete instructions, please see Allison Kleiman's email "Reminder to update Naviance," sent on 4/5.
1) Enter an outcome for all applications.
2) Indicate enrollment so LaG has permission to send your final transcript with proof of graduation in June.
3) Delete incomplete apps and email Ms. Kleiman the list of schools she needs to remove.
Questions? Students can book an appointment with Ms. Kleiman during their lunch/free period.
REMINDER:Seniors must complete the 2022 Diploma Name Verification Google Form. You must be logged into your LaGuardia Gmail account in order to access the Google Form and you will need to enter your student ID number and official class/homeroom which are both printed on the front of your LaGuardia student ID card.

4/5 Gen PA Mtg Recording Thanks to all who joined our General PA meeting on Tuesday, April 5th. A special thank-you to our guest speaker, Evelyn Carela, LaGuardia's substance abuse prevention and intervention specialist. You can access her informational slides by clicking here.
We also want to thank our school social workers, Dr. Ebony Campbell and Lauren Lydiard, for their videotaped presentation. And finally, thanks to the Spanish-, Mandarin-, and Russian-language interpreters who helped us that evening.

Seeking PA Volunteers! We're looking for 5 volunteers to form a Nominating Committee in preparation for the 2022-23 PA (Executive Board) and the 2022-24 SLT (School Leadership Team) elections taking place in June. The only requirements to be part of the committee are: a) you must be a parent or guardian of a student at LaGuardia and b) you must not be a current EB member planning to run for the 2022-23 PA Executive Board (this stipulation does not apply to the 2022-24 SLT elections). The Gala and Auction Committees are seeking additional volunteers, especially those with graphic design and event planning skills. DANCE Welcome back from a much-needed Spring Recess. Hope everyone is rested and rejuvenated. Some upcoming dance news/events:
JUNIOR DANCE ENSEMBLE: MONDAY, 5/2 Performance details to be confirmed. Dancers received an email from Tadej this weekend.
PA DANCE STUDIO MTG: TUESDAY, 5/3, 7 pm Immediately following the General PA meeting. We're hoping to hold this meeting in-person at the school so we can finally get together and meet our fellow parents/caregivers, but we need to confirm with the administration this week. Otherwise, we'll hold the meeting on ZOOM.
VOLUNTEERS WELCOME Please let us know if you’d like to volunteer for the many end-of-year events! Although they are largely specific to Seniors, it’s a great way to get involved and see what you can look forward to for your dancer!

WATER FOUNTAINS & TECH DEPT WATER BOTTLES The school basement will have 2 brand new chilled water fountains with bottle dispensers after Spring Recess! Now is the time to order a very cool LAGUARDIA * TECH DEPT * INSULATED * STAINLESS STEEL * WATER BOTTLE to keep that fresh water cold for up to 12 hours. Supply is limited! We'll start distributing water bottles the week after Spring Recess, and we'll have an engraving pen on hand so students can put their names on them.

DRAMA JOIN THE TEAM AND PITCH IN! Spring is a busy time in the Drama Studio—we have a number vital volunteer positions and we need YOU to help out! Are you a FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORE, or JUNIOR family member? Then come support the seniors at the Spring Drama Festival (May 11-27) by selling merchandise and concessions during the performances. Student Working Papers Once both the Application for Employment and Health Examination Form have been completed, please log in to your LaGuardia Gmail account (only students can access the documents), and fill out the Google Form, where you will be asked to upload these documents along with your birth certificate and student ID card/passport.

Community Service Hours If your student would like to receive a Seal of Recognition for Service on their diploma, 100 hours of community service is required.
1) Students must use their LaGuardia Gmail account to sign up for x2VOL.
2) Students may volunteer with any nonprofit or not-for-profit organization. 3) Students must record a detailed description of their service, including the name and contact info of an adult who supervised their activities.

LaG Virtual Study Groups LaGuardia’s National Honor Society runs LagPods, which offers free, virtual, collaborative peer study groups for all grades/levels in math, science, social studies, English, world languages, academic Studio classes, and SAT & ACT test prep. All are welcome to join!
Each LagPod decides as a group when to meet (outside of school hours). Leadership opportunities are available.

NYPL Brainfuse HelpNow This is a free eLearning service for all provided by the New York Public Library. Live tutors are available online every day between 2 pm and 11 pm EST for these subjects: math, science, reading/writing, social studies, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP and state standardized tests. Additional offerings include a 24-hour Writing Lab and Foreign Language Lab / Spanish-Speaking Support.
