It's National Teacher Appreciation Week!

National Teacher Day is tomorrow, May 9th - “a day of honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.”

A little history....

National Teacher Day was born in 1953 when Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded Congress to set aside a day to recognize educators. However, it didn't become a national holiday until March 7, 1980, after the National Education Association, along with its Kansas and Indiana State affiliates, lobbied Congress.

In 1984, the National Parent Teacher Association designated the first full week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week. The following year, the National Education Association voted to make the Tuesday of that week National Teacher Day.

The Music Studio acknowledges all of our wonderful teachers and support staff!

Thank You!
