Message from the Reps

”Women should be celebrated every day, but a month dedicated to female empowerment is extremely special. It doesn’t just honor the iconic women who have changed history, but encourages new generations to dream big and know that anything is possible.”
— Molly McCook

Welcome to March, and Happy Women's History Month!

Since 1988, U.S. presidents have proclaimed the month of March as Women's History Month to honor the countless historical contributions women have made to society; many of which had been either unrecognized, or undervalued. Let us salute the phenomenal women in our lives, both past and present.

“I am a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.”

— Maya Angelou

Interlochen & The LaG Gospel Choir

On Friday evening, March 3rd, Interlochen and the LaGuardia High School Gospel Choir performed in David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. Before the performance, the Music Studio hosted a dinner for both groups in the 5th floor cafeteria. LaG students had the opportunity to mingle with their peers from Interlochen, who hail from all across the country.

While the students patiently waited for dinner to arrive, Dr. Darryl Jordan, accompanied by Mr. T.J. Walker on piano, led the choir in song. Students followed up by taking turns on the mic serenading their peers with impromptu songs. It was a beautiful evening of fellowship and song.
