The New Music Ensemble
is presenting their
Winter Showcase on January 28th
from 1:00-3:00 pm
in Little Flower Theater.
Students are performing original songs and compositions that range widely from Jazz to Rock to Pop standards.
To receive a ticket, LaG students can enter a raffle being emailed to them from the school this week.
Those who do not attend LaGuardia may use this link to enter a separate raffle to request a ticket.
You MUST be fully vaccinated
to attend the show.

LaG Virtual Study Groups
Spring Semester Starting!
LaGuardia’s National Honor Society offers free, collaborative virtual peer study groups. Students in LagPods can gain confidence and improve their grades and test scores by collaboratively teaching and learning from each other. Each Pod decides as a group when and how frequently they want to meet. All meetings are outside of school hours.
New Pods are being created now for the spring semester for many different math, science, social studies, English, world languages, and academic studio classes. Pods are available for classes at all grades/levels, including AP test preparation. Leadership opportunities are available.

WINTER DANCE SHOWCASE
Congratulations to the class of 2022 on an amazing weekend of shows! The Winter Dance showcase was a huge success, and we were all thrilled to see these talented students on stage—the first opportunity to see a live dance performance at LaGuardia in two years! Thank you to all the faculty and staff for all the work and organization to make sure these seniors had this chance to perform! And congratulations to the Class of 2022 for such an extraordinary weekend of dance!

Scholarships for Summer Arts Programs
Each year, Alumni & Friends of LaGuardia distributes over $50,000 in scholarships to Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen with financial need who wish to pursue arts programs and private lessons during the summer. All details are here.
Application Deadline: February 11, 2022
(Please note that Seniors do not qualify, as they will have already graduated by summer 2022.)

Once both your Application for Employment and Health Examination Form have been completed, please log in to your LaGuardia Gmail account, and fill out the Google Form, where you will be asked to upload these documents along with your birth certificate and student ID card/passport.

LaGuardia’s National Honor Society is running free, virtual peer study pods, with flexible scheduling outside of school hours. All are welcome to join!

This is a free service provided by the United Federation of Teachers. Licensed educators advise Grades K-12 students and/or their parents in all subjects, Monday through Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm (when school is in session). Assistance is available in these languages: Armenian, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Haitian-Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Tagalog.
NYPL Brainfuse HelpNow
This is a free eLearning service for all provided by the New York Public Library. Live tutors are available online every day between 2 pm and 11 pm EST for these subjects: math, science, reading/writing, social studies, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP and state standardized tests. Additional offerings include a 24-hour Writing Lab and Foreign Language Lab / Spanish-Speaking Support.
