Ms. Bechard would like Chromebooks as backup technology to support students in Bioethics. Ms. Barile would like an iPad tablet and accessories for interactive lessons and enhanced student engagement in her Biology and Advanced Environmental Science classes. Ms. Pan would like a new computer to facilitate the creation of video lessons for math students who are remote due to Covid-19.

DANCE
REMOTE OBSERVATION WEEK 1/18-1/21
RECORDING & SHARING PROHIBITION
Each cohort will have one designated Ballet class and one designated Modern class that will be livestreamed via Zoom.
Click HERE to see your child’s class, date/time of the livestream, Zoom link, meeting code and password. For students who are under quarantine during that week, we will be organizing an additional Parent Observation Week again this Spring.
**IMPORTANT: ALL RECORDING AND SHARING IS PROHIBITED, AND WILL RESULT IN FUTURE OBSERVATIONS BEING CANCELLED**
Recording and posting without permission is a serious violation of the artistic and professional integrity of our students and faculty, and violation of this trust will have disciplinary consequences.
Remote Parent Observation sessions will not be recorded, and recording on personal devices is strictly prohibited. If any video of classes being recorded surfaces on social media, all remaining observation classes as well as the Spring Observation Week will be cancelled.

WINTER DANCE SHOWCASE

Tickets to the live performance are limited to seniors and their families, and one ticket for each underclassman. Please make sure your dancer has received their ticket. They were handed out at school this week in the Dance office.
Livestream on our school's website is the best option for viewing.
Senior parents will be organizing a senior lunch between the Saturday shows. Please reach out if you’d like to help!

PA ART STUDIO MEETING
We look forward to seeing you at our meeting this Wednesday, January 19th at 7 pm. We will be joined by Art Therapists, Emily Davenport, M.A., ATR-BC, LCAT and Daniele Gentile, M.A., LCAT-LP who will lead a workshop about how to combat stress, increase insight and process emotions with meaningful (and fun) art making. Please encourage other Art Studio parents to join us for the evening.

Scholarships for Summer Arts Programs
Each year, Alumni & Friends of LaGuardia distributes over $50,000 in scholarships to Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen with financial need who wish to pursue arts programs and private lessons during the summer. All details are here.

(Please note that Seniors do not qualify, as they will have already graduated by summer 2022.)

Once both your Application for Employment and Health Examination Form have been completed, please log in to your LaGuardia Gmail account, and fill out the Google Form, where you will be asked to upload these documents along with your birth certificate and student ID card/passport.

This is a free service provided by the United Federation of Teachers. Licensed educators advise Grades K-12 students and/or their parents in all subjects, Monday through Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm (when school is in session). Assistance is available in these languages: Armenian, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Haitian-Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Tagalog.

NYPL Brainfuse HelpNow
This is a free eLearning service for all provided by the New York Public Library. Live tutors are available online every day between 2 pm and 11 pm EST for these subjects: math, science, reading/writing, social studies, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP and state standardized tests. Additional offerings include a 24-hour Writing Lab and Foreign Language Lab / Spanish-Speaking Support.
